We spend more time in the workplace than in our own home. The working environment has become an extension of a dwelling, not only the place carries out our professional activities but also has become a way we relate to and cohabit with people who share that space. Office building’s design is changing fast. Technology, globalisation and demographics are revolutionising the way workplaces are used. 

Ever been to a place and got totally amazed by the choice of color? One can quote both awful and mesmerizing examples to answer that question. There is an entire science behind what makes one’s choice of colors as bizarre or sensible. Architectural and interior design consist of the combination of many interrelated elements comprising space, texture, form, light, structure, and color. Unfortunately, the one ingredient in the interdependent mix of design elements that is mostly excused or left as an afterthought is color. To avoid this, one needs to approach color selection as an integral essence of the design rather than something that is applied superficially later.

Almost all buildings are designed by adults except for a few dog houses or sand castles made by creative brainstorming of children. The major concern of an adult while designing our spaces are its usability, economics, sustainability which of course are important but has not much to do with children's experience of space. For them its more about what space “say”, or what mood it reflects their imaginations which can transform backyards into jungles and mountains – living their fantasies through exploration of spaces.

All of us have an idea of our dream home, which is full of wonder and it is something we believe we can be. But architecture, even now has been quite resistant to change in context to major number of structures that we see today. We become locked up in the same mundane walls if we see the same type of architecture around, which has the  same lights and materials. But, there is always iconic architecture which inspires people to think out of the box. 

Trends are mostly, if not always- a result of requirement, and so is the current demand for transformable spaces! Be it a home or a working space, people are now disposed to find and adopt ways to maximise use of their spaces. With the soaring housing prices, transformable spaces have gained a new admiration amongst masses in recent years. It gives a more flexible space to live with simple and economic solutions.
